Give each case a clear identity
Start with the bureau or furnisher, the account or report section involved, and a short label that explains the issue. If you have several disputes open at once, a clean case name helps prevent documents and responses from being attached to the wrong matter.
A tracker should not need your full Social Security number or bank credentials. Use only enough information to recognize the account and preserve sensitive originals separately.
Record the exact information you questioned
Write down what the report showed, what you believed was inaccurate or incomplete, and the correction you requested. This matters because a later response can be difficult to evaluate if you no longer remember the precise field you challenged. Keep the wording factual and separate your observation from any legal conclusion.
If the issue was a duplicate, wrong balance, incorrect status, date, ownership problem, or other specific field, name that field directly. Do not turn an unfavorable but accurate account into a generic “remove it” case.
Attach an evidence list to the case
List every document you relied on and what fact it supports. Examples can include statements, payment confirmations, account letters, correspondence, or genuine identity-theft documentation when that situation truly applies. Preserve the original files outside the tracker too, because browser-local storage can be cleared.
CredBounce’s Evidence Locker is designed to keep local copies associated with the case on your device during the beta.
Dates and confirmation numbers create the timeline
Record when the dispute was prepared, when it was submitted, how it was submitted, any confirmation or tracking number, and when additional information was sent. If a response arrives, record the received date too. These dates let you compare the case with current bureau or consumer-agency timing guidance instead of guessing.
Finish the case with the actual result
Save the response and note what the updated report shows. Useful result notes include whether the disputed field changed, remained the same, was deleted, was updated in another way, or requires you to review a legitimate next step. Avoid treating a portal label as the whole result when an updated report provides more detail.
A complete case record should let you answer five questions later: What did the report say? What did I question? What did I send? When did I send it? What changed afterward?
CredBounce is self-service software operated by Storm And Me LLC. The tracker organizes information; it does not submit disputes for you, provide legal advice, or guarantee a deletion or score increase.
