Storm And Me VPN Privacy Policy

This Privacy Policy applies to Storm And Me VPN (Android package com.stormandme.samvpn), published by Storm And Me LLC. It explains what information the app accesses or processes, why it is used, how it is protected, when service providers may process it on our behalf, and how you can request deletion.
VPN functionality and Android VpnService
Storm And Me VPN uses Android's VpnService because creating an encrypted device-level VPN tunnel is a core function of the app. When you choose to connect, device internet traffic is routed through an encrypted WireGuard tunnel from your Android device to the selected Storm And Me VPN endpoint.
VpnService is not used to redirect advertising traffic, manipulate traffic for monetization, sell browsing activity, or build advertising profiles.
Information the app processes
- Device or installation identifier: a randomly generated app/install identifier used to register the installation and provision VPN access.
- Pseudonymous service identifier: an internal account/device service identifier used for app functionality.
- VPN configuration and connection data: information required to establish and maintain the WireGuard tunnel.
- Network IP information: source IP information may be handled transiently for routing, security, rate limiting, abuse prevention, and Protection Proof verification.
- Protection Proof data: challenge and verification information needed to check whether the expected VPN route is being used and to create requested proof results.
- ScamCheck content: suspicious message text, links, or screenshots that you voluntarily choose to submit for analysis.
- Ask Shield content: security, privacy, scam, phishing, or VPN questions that you voluntarily choose to submit.
The current free-first release does not require your name, email address, phone number, contacts, precise location, payment-card information, or advertising identifier to use the VPN.
VPN traffic and browsing activity
Internet traffic necessarily passes through the VPN endpoint while the VPN is connected. Storm And Me VPN is not designed to retain your browsing history, DNS query history, destination IP history, or packet contents. Network information required to fulfill a live VPN request may be processed ephemerally while the request is being serviced.
We do not sell VPN traffic or browsing activity. We do not use VPN traffic for advertising redirection or traffic monetization.
AI security features
ScamCheck and Ask Shield operate only when you choose to submit content. AI features do not receive raw VPN traffic. Submitted content and a minimized protection-state summary when needed may be processed by service providers acting on behalf of Storm And Me LLC solely to provide the requested security analysis or guidance.
Do not submit passwords, one-time codes, private keys, payment-card numbers, or other secrets to AI security features.
How information is used
Information is used only for providing VPN functionality, authenticating an installation, provisioning tunnels, maintaining reliability and security, preventing abuse and fraud, troubleshooting, producing requested Protection Proof results, and providing optional ScamCheck or Ask Shield features.
Sharing and service providers
Storm And Me LLC does not sell personal information. Limited information may be processed by infrastructure, hosting, verification, security, and AI service providers acting on our behalf when necessary to operate the service or provide a feature you request. We do not share submitted data with advertisers for independent advertising use.
Security
VPN traffic from the device to the VPN endpoint is encrypted using WireGuard. API communications use HTTPS/TLS. WireGuard client private keys are generated on the device and are not sent to the control plane.
Data retention
We keep only service records reasonably needed to operate, secure, troubleshoot, and protect the VPN service or meet legal obligations. Storm And Me VPN is not designed to create durable logs of browsing history, DNS queries, destination IP history, or packet contents.
Data deletion
Storm And Me VPN does not require a traditional user-created account with a name, email, and password, but the service creates a pseudonymous device registration needed to provision VPN access. Children
Storm And Me VPN is not directed to children under 13.
Changes
We may update this Privacy Policy when the app, service, or data practices change. The effective date above will be updated when material changes are posted.
